A Pioneering Work on Markets and Traders

This is the book I would recommend to anyone interested in trying his hand at the stock market.
It is not, however, exciting, by any stretch of the imagination. Nor is it a book to read over the weekend. Magee takes his time, and the reader would do well to take his time also.
This is a book to think long thoughts about. It is not at all difficult. It is, in fact, very easy. But the concepts which it addresses are fundamental, in the deepest sense of the word, to an understanding of what markets are, how they work, and what one can expect to earn from them.
It's been a few years since I posted this review, and the current edition at $50 is a bit stiff. An earlier edition is available at half the price. Scroll down.

Deep smart thoughts about the misteries of Wall Street,

I red this book once and about thirty years ago. I remained immediately impressed by the original and strange way to face problems of communications between traders, brokers and the entire world around the stock exchanges of the world. After so many years, I still remember the intriguing profoundness of its contents and now I know how the entire financial world is totally dominated by these unsolved problems of communication much more that by rationale behaviour and logic reactions of people involved.
